Annual fee waiver
年費豁免
An annual fee waiver is an arrangement under which a card issuer does not charge the annual fee for a year when you meet a condition. A common condition is spending a set amount in a set period; it can also be no fee in the first year, or using other services from the issuer. Conditions differ from card to card and the fee is charged as normal when they are missed, so check the period and which spending does not count.
Example
Suppose the annual fee is HK$1,800 and it is waived if yearly spending reaches HK$60,000.

Missing the target by HK$12,000 means no waiver and the full fee.
